About us

Description

VIA (Voices In Adoration) - Music is not only the universal language but the language of our very souls and spirits. We minister to our God whenever we lift our voices in praise and worship to Him. When we decide to consecrate our talented voices for the Lord, not only do we assert the privilege of ministering to our God, we are also blessed by our Master Himself. Our gifts of song will be lifted up and treasured by not just man but by the Almighty Creator, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

JAM (Jesus' Army of Musicians) - As the Israelites marched around the Walls of Jericho, up front were not the seasoned warriors, not even the anointed kings, but those that bore the ark of the covenant and the trumpets. At the sound of the trumpets, in unison with the shout of the people, the walls of Jericho crumbled. Musical instruments-the harps and trumpets of old and the guitars, drums, keyboards and flutes of our present age-invite the mighty and holy presence of God. Our hands will be holy weapons against the enemy and ushers of blessing to the people of God.
Team Ministry

Existence:

1. To edify and encourage the body of Christ within this church as part of helps ministry (1 Cor. 12:28)
2. To bring the congregation into the presence of GOD (2 Chron. 7:1-2; 1 Pet. 2:5) & set the stage for the preaching of the Word of God with the ultimate goal  of  changing  lives  into the  image of God ( Ro. 12:1-2, 2 Cor. 3:18)
3. Deepen people’s devotion to God

Worship Leading – this is a leadership type ministry &, hence, is ordinarily not a place for new or immature Christians, everyone in the worship ministry is a leader of worship

1. Leading people in worship - able to worship, regardless of their place in the church, or the surrounding circumstances.  If an individual cannot worship then he will be unable to lead others in worship.  Being a worshipper is more important than being a musician or technician
2. Leading by serving – willing to give himself to service, teachable
3. Able to submit themselves to the Team leadership, and integrate and work with the other members of the Worship Team.  We do not expect that conflict will never exist.  But, team members need to be able to allow iron to sharpen iron by dying to self.  LORD, not my will, but let Your will be done!

Team Ministry DEFINED

1. A collection of people who must collaborate in achieving their goals.
2. Two or more leaders working together to accomplish a single spiritual task.
3. It is a group of men or women who are knit together in spirit and purpose for God’s kingdom.
A team comprises a group of people or animals linked in a common purpose. Teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent subtasks.
Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize his or her strengths and minimize his or her weaknesses.

Advantages of Team Ministry

1.   TM provides a living demonstration of the principle of the body ministry (1 Cor 12)
2.   TM will be much more effective and will provide greater results (Ecc. 4:9-12)
3.   TM provides a greater possibility for safety and balance in ministry (Prov. 11:14)
4.   TM provides strength and encouragement for ministers themselves
5.   TM helps us guard against ‘Lone Ranger Mentality’

Principles and Practice of Team Ministry

1.     Collaborative: Working together precedes winning together
2.     Communicative:  A team with many voices with a single heart
3.     Enthusiastic:  Your heart is the source of energy ( our capital)
4.     Committed:  There are no half-hearted champions – flowing with the team

Music ministry is not the right of the talented but the privilege extended to the committed & faithful (practice sessions, preparation before each meeting & ministry are mandatory

Worship team members don’t need to be the best of buds, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to make Eph. 4:1-3 your team’s mantra.  V. 3 tells us to “make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.’ This is how we live worthy of the calling to which we have been called – as Christians and as worship leaders.

Traits that will hold the team together and unified (Phil. 2:1-4)

1. The trait of Encouragement (v.1)
2. The trait of Love (v.1)
-1 John 4:21 says ‘those who love GOD must love their brothers and sisters also.’  We aren’t loving God through our worship if we are unreconciled, jealous or judgmental towards one another on the worship team.  As spiritual leaders, our relationships affect the spiritual dynamic in our fellowship groups.  As role models, others are taking their cues from us.  Our worship will stink (spiritually and probably technically too) if we have no love for one another.
3. The trait of Fellowship in the Spirit (v.1)
4. The trait of Concern for one another (v.2)
    a. pray for one another
    b. Set the expectation that if there is ever a disagreement it will get talked about as soon as possible.
    c. Commit  to listening to and learning from one another, and overtime you may even come to value what at one time you only tolerated
5. The trait of Humility or lowliness of mind (v.3)
6. The trait of controlling self-interest (v.4)

But what if we just don’t click?’ Differences in personality, values and worship styles can make deep relationships seem impossible.  This is where choosing to serve and praying for a Holy Spirit heart transplant is crucial.

"It takes a willing heart for GOD to change"

Share responsibility.  Deepening relationships and being dedicated to your mission require effort.  Sharing tears and joy of knowing GOD had worked through us to touch others.
